We aren’t on the mountain top anymore, Jesus. We aren’t dancing anymore. We aren’t laughing. I don’t feel like the little girl you love anymore, Jesus. Life is getting hard. I don’t understand. I’m losing people. I’m witnessing hearts shatter in front of my eyes— how could i remain soft hearted? How could i remain full of child-like faith?
“Perhaps this is where you need to be” I hear Him say.
This isn’t the mountain top. This is a very very dark valley, Jesus. I’m scared. i can’t make it through. I can’t see where we’re going. I can’t be the girl you want me to be.
“I’m only answering your prayers. You said you didn’t want to stay where you are and so now i’m taking you through something that will bring you to a place where great faith lies.”
“Just remember one thing my child— i will never let you go.”
Isaiah 43:2 “ When you go through deep waters i will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up. The flames will not consume you.”
Perhaps this dark valley that seems to be taking forever to walk through is the exact place where he intends you to be. In this dark valley is great praise. The best kind of worship is when your hurting. When you can’t understand, when you can barely feel. Because your choosing to trust what you know to be true about your God rather than what you have seen. Yes, this very scary place that you find yourself in is exactly where you are supposed to be. My question to you is can you praise Him anyway? Great faith lies within you. He wants you to see it.
Now is the time to scrap what faith you have left and give it to Him. Only then can your faith grow— when you place it in the hands of the Author of Faith. You are never faithless. He loves you too much to leave you without faith. You have a mustard seed of faith in you, that He himself planted. Let Him water it. It must pour a little while for it to grow but He knows what He is doing. Trust Him. At some point, the rain will stop— And when it does, you will see the garden of flowers He was planting all along.
Walk with Him.
