“Lord, it’s crazy how many people are walking around carrying the weight of their past’s. How many people are carrying around what has happened to them— walking around as victims in their own lives. For no other reason than they don’t know you. No other reason than they refuse to run to you with the broken pieces. They blame you instead of crying on your shoulder. They’re angry at you instead of weeping with you. They don’t know that you make beauty for ashes, or that you turn broken pieces into a masterpiece, or how a dead, broken person could become alive and free with just one look in your eyes.”
God isn’t some God sitting in heaven watching all the things you’ve done and been through shaking His head. He’s a God that is near to you.. sitting on your bed. In your car. With you at work. Weeping with you on your floor. Crying with you in your shower. This God is not a God that cannot relate to you. This God decided to come down from heaven and be in a human body just to feel what you would feel in your lifetime— the tears, the anxiety, the heartbreak, the grief, the loneliness. He isn’t a God that is distant. He isn’t too distant that He wouldn’t know what to do with you. He’s close enough to know exactly what you need before you need it. It’s why He offers Himself to you. Without you knowing it, He offers Himself to you every single day — whether its a smile you need. A break. Peace. Silence from the chaos in the world. Comfort in loss. Loneliness because you too are different from everyone else. He’s the answer. And you don’t even know that you are walking testimony waiting to be told. Because you have yet to give him the pieces to your story. You have yet to look in the eyes of the one who loves you the most. Your life is never just about you. Everything you’ve been through was never just about you. It always comes down to you knowing Him, Him redeeming you and everything that you lost and you going out and telling everyone of the one who can redeem them too.
Your life is never just about you. So, if you want purpose. If you want to be a walking testimony. If you want everything that you’ve ever been through, good or bad to actually matter for generations— Give God the pieces to your brokenness. Open the door to Him. Invite Him in your mess. Only then will it all become something that just lead you to the one who saved you from it all.
